How do you know if you should “Detox” or “Cleanse”?

Almost every supplement company has their own version of a detox or cleanse program designed to help you lose weight.

I am going to be honest with you.

I see weight loss not as a primary aim, but as a secondary benefit to balancing other systems of the human body.

While I do not like plans that focus on low calorie intakes and excessive fasting, I do like plans that allow you to eat as much as you want of the “right” foods while following some anti-inflammatory and hypoallergenic meal guidelines.

My goal for a cleanse program is to jumpstart lifestyle change and show how healthy food can be tasty and satisfying. With your 21-30 day commitment, you are forced to learn new habits, and try new recipes.

It takes at least 21 days to create a new habit, so it’s important that my clients commit for the full period of time, and use 10-14 days cleanses not as a crutch, but as a way to fine-tune their diet habits over the long-term following that initial commitment.
